Advanced Injectable Procedures
Specialist image-guided injections for complex joint and soft tissue conditions, performed by consultant musculoskeletal radiologists.
Image Guided Steroid Injections
Our consultants perform a comprehensive range of image-guided steroid injections using X-ray, ultrasound, CT, and fluoroscopy guidance to ensure precise needle placement.
Injections serve both diagnostic and therapeutic purposes — confirming pain sources and providing targeted anti-inflammatory relief.
- Facet joint injections of the spine
- Nerve root blocks
- Shoulder hydrodilatation
- Subacromial subdeltoid bursa injections
- Elbow, wrist, and hand joint injections
- Knee joint and popliteal cyst injections
- Ankle and foot injections including plantar fasciitis and Morton’s neuroma
Hydrodilatation for Frozen Shoulder
A specialist procedure for adhesive capsulitis (frozen shoulder). Fine needles are inserted into the shoulder joint under image guidance, and a mixture of saline, local anaesthetic, and steroid is injected to distend and stretch the contracted capsule.
Most patients notice immediate pain reduction and increased movement range. The procedure is safe and minimally invasive.
Barbotage Therapy
A targeted treatment for calcific tendinosis, most commonly in the shoulder. Under ultrasound guidance, needles break up and remove calcium deposits, followed by steroid injection to reduce inflammation.
Procedures take up to 30 minutes.
